How
Dinner will begin at 5:00 pm. After which, there will be activities and service projects in which to participate. At 6:00 we will gather in the Worship Center for Large Group/Worship. We will learn about Friendship, what the Bible says about friends, and how some modern day characters work through the successes and trials of friendship. After Large Group/Worship, families will go to their assigned Small Groups for an activity that reinforces the Large Group Lesson.

Registration forms must be turned in for all attending families by May 17 in order to adequately and responsibly purchase materials and food. Please be thinking of neighbors, friends and/or co-workers you might want to invite and download a form for them also. If you invite such a family, you will be placed in the same Small Group as them.

FAQ
What if my family cannot attend all four Sundays?
No worries! Come the days that you can. While the theme is the same for all four Sundays, “BFF” (Best Friends Forever), the lessons are structured in
a way that allows for absences.

Is there childcare for my young children?
Because this is a Family VBS, families will stay together the entire evening. Bring strollers, wagons, whatever mode of transport and comfort you need. Of course, the “cry room” will be accessible during Large Group/Worship.

Why are we changing VBS?
1. To allow families to experience the worship, the lessons and the fun of     VBS together.
2. To allow parents who work during the week, which is when we     traditionally held VBS, to be able to attend VBS.
3. To create an environment where parents are hearing the same lessons     as their children so that the values and virtues learned at VBS may be     revisited in the home through conversations and activities.

*Descriptions of Volunteer Opportunities as listed on

Lead Family in a Small Group: Each small group needs an adult to take the lead when the small group meets. This person would facilitate by reading directions and explaining the activity. This person would also watch the time and keep the small group moving through the lesson. This doesn’t involve actual teaching but simply facilitating the activity.

Welcoming Team: Help welcome the VBS attendees as they enter the church building for dinner and then in the Worship Center for the Large Group/Worship Time. Skills needed: a friendly smile and happy heart!
